2019-2020 DM WOLVES LACROSSE
GEOFFREY GORMAN - VARSITY HEAD COACH
Coach Gorman joined the Wolves in 2019 and certainly left his mark during his inaugural season. Coaching the Varsity team to a 13-1 season, the only loss was by one goal. The season culminated in the Wolves capturing the 2019 D2 Arizona State Lacrosse Championship! Originally from Syracuse, New York, Geof Gorman has over 35 years of lacrosse experience as both a player and coach. As an All-Star attackman from Fayetteville Manlius High School, Geof also brings D1 playing experience. He played with the Orangemen of Syracuse University under the guidance of legendary coaches Roy Simmons, Jr. and John Desko. After college, Geof moved to Arizona and gained experience coaching at several Arizona High Schools with both girls and boys programs. No stranger to championship victories, Geof has also worked closely with Ryan Powell and helped found and coach at the Rhino Lacrosse summer camp in Flagstaff, AZ. We are excited to welcome back Coach Gorman to the Wolves family in his second year as Head Coach.
DILLON WEAVER - DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR
A Desert Mountain alumni, Dillion played lacrosse from 2006-2010 for the Wolves. Now, in his fifth year of coaching with our program, Dillon brings a wealth of defense experience both as a coach and player. Dillon attended University of Arizona where he studied economics and is currently an accountant. Additionally, Dillon is the Arizona Commissioner for ULAX, an all men's lacrosse program here in the area. He also helps with the men's box and travel lacrosse teams.
ALEX POTTER - ASSISTANT COACH
Another former Desert Mountain player, Alex played lacrosse from 6th grade through his 1st year in college. An attackman for the Wolves, Alex currently holds a spot on our Top Ten Point Leader List. This is Alex's 3rd year coaching for the Wolves. Alex works for Groundwater Consulting Company and plays hockey on the weekends.
RYAN JAMES, JR. - GOALIE COACH
Ryan led the 2019 team to a State Championship as their goalie. As an All-Star Player for both the 2018 and 2019 season, Ryan established himself as a true team leader and mentor. Currently continuing his education training to be an EMT, he has once again stepped up to help the Wolves. This is Ryan's first year as a goalie coach and we are honored to have him back with our program!
